Steven Justice is Professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of Writing and Rebellion: England in 1381 (University of California, 1994), which received the MLA Prize for a First book in 1995.

His recent articles include “Chaucer’s History-Effect” (in Answerable Style: The Idea of the Literary in Medieval England, Eds. Andrew Galloway and Frank Grady, Ohio State UP, 2013),  “Eucharistic Miracle and Eucharistic Doubt” (Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies, 2012), “Who Stole Robertson?” (PLMA, 2009) and “Did the Middle Ages Believe in Their Miracles?” (Representations, 2008).
